Typing Produces Incorrect Characters

When in a remote session if you type and the characters on the remote machine are not as expected you can check that SimpleHelp has detected the correct keymap for the remote machine.

To do this click Send Keystroke(s)... from the text button menu on the session bar.

In the window that appears you will see a dropdown box at the top with the name of the keymap which was autodetected for the remote session.

If you believe this is incorrect then you can select another keymap and click Set for all typing. This remote keymap will then be applied to all text SimpleHelp generates and sends to the remote machine.

If you continue to have problems then in some rare cases you may find choosing a keymap which does not map exactly to the expected one but is similar to it or can produce the correct characters may be beneficial.
