Access Services Fail Using HTTPS

If you have set up your SimpleHelp server with HTTPS but you are having problems getting your Remote Access service to register with it this may be because SSL is not set up properly on your server.

The first thing you should check is whether your browser accepts your SimpleHelp server's HTTPS certificate. You can check this just by visiting your SimpleHelp server in your usual web browser and looking out for any errors or red crosses in the address bar.

The next thing you should check is that when you set up the SSL keystore for your SimpleHelp server you imported the root certificate for your CA and all intermediate certificates.

Your SSL provider will have instructions on how to do this. If you do not include all root and intermediate certificates then your Remote Access service may not be able to verify that your certificate has come from a trusted source and will refuse to connect.

You can also use the service mentioned on this document to check if your SSL is set up correctly.
